K9 units are the best partners a police officer could ever ask for. It’s like bringing your own dog with you and letting them help you with your job. Police officers tend to get attached to their k-9 partners, and seeing them retire is such an emotional experience for everyone.
Faust, a K9 police dog, was not aware that it was the last time that he would ever ride a police car. This adorable officer did not know that he was already going to retire.
Faust was an Explosives Detection and Patrol unit along with his human partner, Senior Special Agent Bryan Schaffer. They spent many years together in the force responding to calls and had a lot of memories together.
But sadly, it was time for Faust to pack up and retire. His last day at the job went a little different from the usual. Usually, Faust gets excited to sit beside his partner in the car and hear the radio chattering.
On their last day together, officer Schaffer got very emotional. While they were listening to the radio call, he was cuddling his partner dog. He was sad to know that this would be the last time Faust had to sit beside him.
On the same day, Schaffer posted on his Facebook how grateful he is to have Faust as his partner in the force. He got emotional over Faust, after all, he was his partner for a long time, and they created a lot of good memories together.
The Facebook post was a tear-jerker. And everyone who saw it was surely moved. It is clear that the bond between Officer Schaffer and Faust is unbreakable.
In his Facebook post, the good officer thanked Faust for getting them both home safe after every shift. Watch their emotional last day together below
Hopefully, Faust will enjoy the rest of his retirement. Thank you for your service, good doggo!
