The sewers are home for stray kittens. They like staying in the sewers because it is quiet there. The sewers are usually dried up, but it can be quickly filled with water if a heavy rain pours. This poses a great danger towards kittens and other strays.
In the Teravista division, Texas, residents found a kitten stuck on the storm drain. However, this kind of situation is common in the neighbourhood.
The poor kitten was heard crying, which alarmed the residents of the neighbourhood. They called the firefighters, informing them that a kitten was stuck in a manhole, crying.
The firefighters responded at the emergency call and quickly arrived at the scene of the incident. The firefighters knew exactly what to do and went for the storm drain. They said that it was the best plan for locating the kitten.
The firefighters made multiple attempts to rescue the frightened kitten. It took some time, but they managed to rescue the kitten by rinsing it with a controlled water source and used a net to catch it.
The wet kitten then came out of the drainage safe in the hands of its rescuers. The firefighters made sure that the kitten was unharmed. The kitten was shocked, surprised but grateful.
The whole rescue operation was filmed. The entire rescue took two and a half hours. There were a lot of people who witnessed the whole event.
Out of all the witnesses, there was one family who took the cat in and let it spend the night in their home. The next day, the family planned to take the kitten to the local animal shelter, but it was never said if they left it there or they did not. Hopefully, it is the latter as this kitten deserves a home where he is safe and loved.
Here’s to hoping that this sweet kitten has found her forever home!
