Have you ever thought of getting a fox as a pet? It is an unusual choice, indeed. But for one man, he was determined to adopt a beautiful, injured fox to be his new best friend.
The Fox Project rescued the poor fox which will be later named, Cropper. The Fox Project is located at Tunbridge Wells in England. When they rescued the red fox, it was injured and ill. His illness was toxoplasmosis.
The crew could not release the sick fox into the wild. That leaves them with two choices: whether to euthanise him or to find him a new home.
The rescue decided not to euthanise him. Since they wanted a new home for the poor fox, a person by the name of Mike Trowler decided to take the fox in.
Mike is the kind of person who is fascinated with foxes ever since he was young. He loves spending time with these creatures.
He is retired, so that means he takes his time raising fox cubs, and once they reach adulthood, he releases them into the wild.
At first, Trowler nursed the sick fox back to health. Cropper ate at the dog’s dish and cuddled with Mike’s cats.
The fox enjoyed Mike’s company. The two of them walked together, and his rescuer even gave him belly rubs. The friendship between the two was filmed.
Unfortunately, the poor fox died in 2007. This broke the heart of his rescuer, Trowler. The fox and Trowler spent six years being together. Within those six years, both of them really had enjoyable moments.
After Cropper died, another fox came in the life of Trowler. A fox named Jack, who bears the same illness as Cropper, lived with Trowler. The new fox enjoyed watching TV. He also bathes in the sink.
According to Trowler, rescuing and adopting foxes is not easy. It requires a lot of patience and understanding of their behavior.
