An act of animal neglect was reported to Kerry Haney, a volunteer of Don’t Bully Us Rescue. Many people reported to her how they saw a pit bull was tied to a tree to the point where the poor animal was unable to move.
It is kept tied in the yard by the owners where passersby could see the poor dog in agony. The volunteer Kerry quickly went there in her pajamas, but sadly couldn’t see the poor dog.
She informed the police about the case, who told her that the case was already familiar to them and were doing everything they could in order to take the dog away from the cruel owners. All she could do now is to wait for what will happen next.
Later that week, Max(the pit bull) was already taken from the hands of the abusive owners and was placed in Gloucester County Animal Shelter where they would seek his care. They will do that until a court hearing where his owners would be found guilty and fined. He was officially to stay at the shelter for the time being.
Kerry’s organisation and the shelter both want to keep the dog, but the vet informed them that Max is experiencing behavioural issues and had a heartworm. The shelter then thought that it would be better if Kerry would keep Max, where he would receive a more personalized care.
Max was now in the hands of the Don’t Bully Us Rescue organization, and was about to be placed in a foster home that could provide more appropriate care and affection for him than Kerry herself could. Kerry realized that he was the sweetest loving soul ever, despite Foster’s first thoughts of him being an aggressive dog.
Max then learns how to get along with humans and other animals alike and spends time with the family who kept him along with the two other house dogs in which he enjoys company. He is also fun around kids and has a great life ahead of him.
Now that he’s well-behaved, Max will need a home where he could stay there forever and be loved by his future adopters as much as Kerry loved him. This dog has a lot of love to give to those who will take care of him. He shows his gratitude by wagging his tail and through cuddling.
