This is an unexpected turn of events, as Shelly Blount only plans to adopt one dog, but ends up getting three instead. She intends to adopt a dog who is scheduled for euthanasia, but she could not just leave the other two from the sad fate that awaits them.
It all began when Blount was on her Facebook. While she was scrolling down on the feed, she came across a post that shows a shelter dog looking for a forever home. It was written on the post that if she would not be adopted, she would be euthanized.
Wanting to save the poor doggo, Blount immediately called the shelter. But she called too late as the dog was already saved. This is not the end of it though as she thought of the other dogs like the one she saw on her Facebook feed.
Despite having three more shelter dogs at home, she decided to adopt more to save them from euthanasia. The staff of the shelter told her that the dog named Caleb was next on the list to be put down.
Coming from Virginia, she got in her car and hurried to the shelter in North Carolina. Upon arrival at the shelter, she asked how many dogs she could adopt. They told her that there was no limit, so she was so happy to hear that.
Supposedly, she only plans to take Caleb, but she took two more named Bella and Charisma instead. When she saw how happy the dogs were, she did not doubt that she had done the right thing.
But having three dogs already, she doesn’t know what to do with all the other dogs. Thankfully, in just days, she already found a forever home for Caleb and Bella. Bella was staying with Blount’s boyfriend, and Caleb lives with one of Blount’s friends.
As for Charisma, she is most likely to start with Blount, not only because she easily bonded with the kind woman, but also because she is pregnant when she got adopted. The shelter staff was not aware of that either. Charisma is expected to give birth to a litter of six puppies.
Thanks to Blount, more than three dogs were saved as more puppies will soon come!
