Raspberries are great fruit snacks. You can eat them as is while you’re catching up on some light reading or watching Netflix at home.

It’s also a versatile fruit that you can add to desserts such as pies and ice cream.

However, is it safe to give to your dogs?

Can Dogs Eat Raspberries?

Well, let’s first look at the fruit itself. It is rich in antioxidants and other various nutrients. They also contain anti-inflammatory properties. Raspberries are high in different nutrients such as fiber, vitamin C, manganese, vitamin K and vitamin B complex.

These are all great for humans like you and me. The good news is that these are also great for our fur babies. So, yes, your dogs can eat raspberries!

The anti-inflammatory properties of raspberry are great for adult and senior dogs because it can help alleviate joint pain.

Additionally, the dietary fiber contained in raspberries is also great in aiding a dog’s digestive system. It is also low in sugar and calories so it helps fight off pet obesity. The antioxidant properties of this beautiful fruit are also notable thanks to its power to reduce different diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart diseases, and arthritis.

And as previously mentioned, raspberries offer different vitamins as well as minerals such as copper, folic acid, iron, magnesium, manganese, and potassium.

With all of these amazing health benefits, why wouldn’t you want to give your dogs more of this fruit?

Well, the answer is because raspberries contain one of the highest levels of natural xylitol. Most pet owners know that xylitol is a huge no-no for dogs. It can contribute to the development of liver disease and hypoglycemia in our beloved fur babies.

So, again, can dogs eat raspberries? The answer is yes, however…

As long as you give raspberries to your pups in moderation, it should be fine.

Give it as a treat once in awhile, and not as a part of their regular diet. Moderation is the key!
