Whipped cream. Many people like it. While others find it too sweet and gross.

For those of us who like it, we may like it on a frappe or hot chocolate or topping of a dessert like like a banana split. However, in the eyes (or noses) of our dogs, it’s just another food that they beg us for using their puppy eyes and charm.

Is Whipped Cream Safe for Dogs?

Of course, knowing how much you love your dog, you would feel the pull to give him/her a bit of that whipped cream. But first, should you really give him/her a bit of that whipped cream? Or isn’t that food a little too sweet for them?

Some human foods may be unhealthy and dangerous for dogs, like chocolate and grapes. On the other hand, some are healthy and beneficial for them like certain foods like red bell peppers.

Can Dogs Eat Whipped Cream?

So, how about it? Can dogs eat whipped cream?

The answer to that is yes, dogs are allowed to eat whipped cream.

However, that does not mean that you should feed them whipped cream. Feeding your dog(s) whipped cream is the equivalent of us, humans, eating junk food. Although it is safe to eat and is not toxic to dogs, it is unhealthy and unnecessary to eat.

So while you can give them whipped cream because it’s not dangerous, you should only give it in small amounts. And only feed it to them every once in a while.

Whipped cream is high in calories, fats, and sugar, which can make your dog obese. So never feed them too many whipped creams as it will only lead to your dog being too fat. And it could lead to them becoming diabetic.

Whipped cream also offers little-to-no health benefits to our dogs. They are basically just treats for them (and us!). So if you are going to feed your dog whipped cream, give them a small amount (not bigger than their paws at most).

Recently, the famous coffee company Starbucks added Puppuccino to its menu. Puppuccino is just whipped cream placed in a tiny espresso size cup. So if you are eager to treat your dog with some sweets, giving them Puppuccino every once in a while is alright.

Dogs and Lactose Intolerance

However, some dogs are lactose intolerant. This means that your dog should not eat anything that has dairy in it.

So for dog owners that have a dog who is lactose intolerant, you must absolutely not feed them any whipped cream. Offering whipped cream or any dairy products to your dog can cause symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, or gas.

Yummy Whipped Cream

Whipped cream is a fluffy and foamy “food” used in desserts like mousse and certain drinks such as milkshakes. Its main ingredient is liquid heavy cream that is whipped using a mixer or a whisk. There are also alternative ingredients for whipped cream, such as using milk and butter.

You can also purchase instant whipped cream. Instant whipped cream is sold in an aerosol can.

Bottom line here, if you want to give your doggo a little bit of whipped cream every now and then, that should be fine. But feeding them a lot of whipped cream can lead to some health issues.
