Australia is a beautiful country with lots of wildlife and incredible animals. This includes adorable little koalas. Koalas are so common in Australia, you can see them on the streets.
Recently, Kerry McKinnon from Starthdownie in Western Victoria got a cute surprise from her Golden Retriever, Asha. The surprise was so unexpected that Kerry couldn’t help but take photos.
So, what was the surprise you asked? Well, it was a cold morning in Australia that day, and not every animal has the warm fur coat that Asha has. So when Kerry’s husband called her outside to take a look at something, she was not sure what to expect.
She was, however, caught off guard with what she saw. It was a baby koala snuggled on top of Asha. It seems as her beautiful do has rescued the tiny baby koala from the cold weather. Asha’s heroism is truly remarkable.
According to Kerry, when she spotted Asha and the baby koala, the beautiful dog looked a little bit guilty, and the look on her face was enough to cause Kerry to burst out laughing.
Asha was confused at what’s happening, but she was more than happy to let the baby koala snuggle in her fur. It is still a mystery where the baby koala came from. It was speculated that the young koala was separated from her mother, and had nowhere to go. And so, she saw Asha’s warm fur and decided to get herself some warmth in the cold weather.
It is clear that Asha saved the koala’s life by keeping him warm. Otherwise, it would have died in the cold alone. It wasn’t easy at first separating the baby koala and Asha because they have become close in such a short period of time.
Kelly was able to bring the little joey to the vet before bringing it to a local koala carer so it can be released back into the wild.
