It is rather large for the size of the dogs that will be using it (actually a lot large) but it wasn’t much more expensive. The smaller size would have worked as well but I know if the ill-fitting top frightened my dogs they would NEVER go back in again. Sturdy, well made, and heavy, this is a great deal for the price. I have another of the larger size coming tomorrow for my (don’t laugh) 6 1/2 lb. Yorkie! He is a clown and will enjoy having a big house to mess up. The Chihuahua who weighs a little more (chubby little girl) will just have to deal with it! I give this house 5 stars. I find no fault with it at all.”

“We had a plastic doghouse before for our dog. It faded and cracked pretty quickly in the sun, not to mention when it rained, it pooled water on the inside and was a chore to dry out. Every dog house will get water in it during rain, so how it deals with the water that gets in is a key factor. This dog house has a slat wood floor which allows drainage. We weatherproofed ours with some sealant before putting it to use, and it’s been raining all week without much weathering of the wood (no leaking from the roof or walls as well, nice job Tangkula). This house is also really quite a nice looking house (stained wood, matching asphalt shingles); it matches our deck nicely versus the plastic ones. It also has feet that raise it off the ground slightly, which I think was a nice design touch. We are very happy with this purchase and our dog seems to enjoy hanging out in it when she’s outside.”
“This house arrived yesterday and I assembled it myself in less than an hour. Instructions were good and all screws and lots were well organized and marked. All you need is a screwdriver. It’s well made and looks just like the picture. My two Corgis have already been in it and they seem to like it just fine. I bought the pad that is mentioned with it and am pleased with it as well. The only potential downside is the lack of weatherproofing of the wood. I don’t mind because I’ll probably paint the house a fun color, but if you want it to remain the same color and last, you’ll want to varnish it. Otherwise, a great buy.”
