Can Dogs Eat Twizzlers?

The short answer is no. Dogs must not eat Twizzlers. Twizzlers are lousy food for dogs.

There are many types of foods that are not good for dogs, such as grapes, bones, chocolate, and you can add Twizzlers to that list.

Twizzlers are bad food for our furry pups. They are considered to be an unhealthy food for our dogs.

Why Are Twizzlers Bad For Dogs?

Twizzlers can either be unhealthy or toxic to dogs, depending on how they are made.

One reason they are not good for dogs is that Twizzlers are high in sugar. And this could be very dangerous to dogs.

Feeding too much high-sugar foods to dogs can cause health problems. It puts them at risk of having many health issues such as diabetes, urinary tract infection (UTI), as well as weight gain and obesity.

And what is even worse is that the sugar that Twizzlers use is different from the regular sugar. Twizzlers contain high fructose corn syrup.

High fructose corn syrup is a type of sugar that is cheaper, yet sweeter, than regular sugar. Consuming this type of sugar can lead to conditions such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure in humans. And although a dog’s body is different from that of a human, they are more likely to suffer from eating a high fructose corn syrup.

Not only does too much sugar lead to severe conditions in dogs, such as obesity and diabetes, it can also cause smaller health related issues. For example, Twizzlers can also lead to dental problems for your dogs.

Some Twizzlers, such as the original Twizzlers, also include licorice, which may be toxic to your dogs, especially in large amounts.

The black licorice flavor contains a compound known as glycyrrhizin. Glycyrrhizin can cause a rise in blood pressure.

However, most Twizzlers flavors do not contain licorice. And Twizzlers that include licorice flavoring is actually not flavored by the licorice plant.

In conclusion, dogs should not eat Twizzlers as they are very unhealthy for your dog. It can cause severe illnesses such as diabetes and obesity.

So, if you have a Twizzler at your hand and your dog is waiting for a bite, do not give them.
